What is Pollapse?
Pollapse is a service that allows anyone to quickly and anonymously poll the world and vote on polls created by others. It is really the combination of our features that distinguishes us from other services. We serve both individuals and brands. For more information, please refer
here.
-
How does Pollapse compare to other polling services?
Pollapse offers a professional-grade, self-service polling system that anyone can use. Unlike other services, there is no paywall for posting polls or to view poll results. In fact, our
terms of service allows our data to be shared with minimal limits. In order to collect the information that we do, a service would likely either have to make voters complete a screener each time, interview people in person, or gather personally identifiable information. What's more, if a member were to change their account to indicate that he/she moved to another country, some of these other services would not be able to catch this change, but we do. Unlike the other free polling services, we automatically generate graphs and tables for all to see, and they're all free.

Where is the mobile app?
Our mobile app is currently in development, but please know that we are working diligently to get it in your hands. In the meantime, any feedback you have about the website would help us fine-tune the eventual app. We thank you for your continued patience.
-
What is the polling limit?
An individual account can post 20 polls a day. For now, brands accounts can post 100 polls a day, but we may up the limit in the future.
-
Do you sell my information?
Pollapse does not sell personally identifiable data. Our service is funded through brand membership subscriptions, advertising, and promotions. One of the perks of our brand membership is that member brands can see anonymized profiles of those engaging with their ads, data which members voluntarily provide and which is available to all visitors.
-
Will you be adding any new graphs?
We in fact have other graph types planned, but we would love to hear any ideas you have.
-
What is microdata?
"Microdata" refers to the raw view of individual votes cast in a poll as opposed to charts. We make these public to provide transparency but without compromising the anonymity of the voters.
-
What is a brand account?
By default, the identity of pollsters are concealed to put them at ease, however, brand accounts give them the option of making their identity known. For example, brand Acme could post a poll to the community, and visitors would see that that brand authored the poll and trust that it is actually them.
Because brands often represent collective entities comprised of multiple individuals with differing beliefs, brand accounts are not set up to vote. Members of brands may, however, vote using their individual accounts.
As noted above, brands can post more polls in a day. Brands also enjoy access to our advertising system where they can view user engagement with their individual spots in a manner similar to viewing poll results. They are also able to skip ads.
-
How can brands prevent others from squatting usernames?
We anticipate that some malcontents will illegitimately attempt open accounts impersonating brands. Please note that there are proactive measures that we take during sign-up to minimize these situations such as phone, card, and domain verification. We recommend that brands post a notice on their own website indicating that they have a presence on Pollapse and provide a link to their public profile. For such a notice, brands may link to our logo which appears in the upper-left corner. Alternately, brands, whether registered with us or not, may contact us, using the contact form, to contest an fraudulent account and we reserve the option to reclaim those accounts on the behalf of victims.
-
How much is a brand membership?
Members pay only $6.99 per month to use a brand account. There is no fee for cancellation.
-
How can I prevent voters from viewing the results before they vote?
Polls can be authored to allow blind (opaque) or open (transparent) voting. In both cases, the author of a poll can view the results as they come in. In blind voting, voters other than the poll's author may only view results when voting closes or a poll is converted to open voting by the author, preventing voters from being swayed by existing votes. In open voting, everyone can see the results as they come in. In the case of open voting, because results can be shared off site, there is no satisfactory way to consistently hide the results from a voter until he/she votes.
-
When I'm logged out, I can't view all of our brands's polls?
To protect your brand's anonymity, polls which you did not ask anonymously do not show up in your anonymized profile. Likewise, in your public profile, your anonymous polls do not appear. To view the totality of your polls, you would have to login into your account and view your private profile.
-
As a brand, does canceling my subscription automatically close my account?
When you cancel your subscription, you're telling us to mark your subscription for automatic cancellation before the next billing period rolls by, allowing you reap the benefits for which you have already paid. Before the next billing period rolls around, your subscription will officially cancel and your account will automatically get locked down until you re-subscribe. You may optionally close your account in addition to or in lieu or canceling your subscription. Either way, your subscription will be canceled. To re-subscribe, simply attempt to
log in to activate the recovery system.
-
How much does it cost to place an ad?
As a perk baked into the subscription, brands may place ads for free. Consequently, up to six ads per account can be in circulation at a time.
-
What is Mention Tracker?
Mention Tracker is a tool available to brands to perform analysis on keywords mentioned by pollsters and voters in an effort to hone their marketing efforts. It can be accessed on the left side of your profile where it says "Mention Tracker."
-
Do you offer promoted listings of polls?
Yes, and we call them "featured polls." Brands can reserve 30-minute time slots up to 5 days in advance through either auctions or closeout sales. During its time slot, a featured poll is displayed at the very top of the poll listing in the browsing section provided visitors are browsing its category and they are visiting from the target geographic location. Additionally, featured polls in the same time slot are rotated on the homepage and the main browsing page, where they are displayed at the top of each poll listing.
-
Do you offer promotion time slots longer than 30 minutes?
Unfortunately, no. Thirty minutes avoids most time-zone collisions and better aligns with TV time slots. If you need more than 30 minutes, you may reserve as many 30-minute time slots as you require, provided they have not already been taken.
-
What is the price to promote a poll?
For auctions, all time slots start at $50, but the community of brands will determine the ultimate price. Closeouts are $50. We will notify brands if prices change. For now, all prices are USD.
